Designed for classroom teachers and childcare providers, our workshops are a great way to enhance your students' educational experience. With a variety of options you are free to choose the workshop that best suits your needs. Please see below for details regarding each workshop. Having worked in the educational system and the childcare industry, we possess expected and required documentation including police security clearances, certification in first aid, and WCB insurance coverage. Rhythm Tank Studio is registered with the Calgary Board of Education Artists in Residence Program, as well as The Clinic Line for band teachers.
WORKSHOPS
Pots & Pans: The Science of Sound
1 hour workshop, 5-10 participants - $50
Ages 6 and up
1 hour workshop, 11-30 participants - $100
The favourite of kids and teachers alike, 'Pots and Pans' is a hands-on, easy-to-understand exploration of music production and the science of sound. Participants use everyday objects as instruments to record percussion sounds for a pre-made pop song arrangement. Through fun activities and demonstrations participants learn about the mechanics of sound and the creation of recorded music. Your group can take home a recording of their finished song to share with family and friends for a $25 processing fee. Feel free to listen to our samples from previous workshops below.
Introduction to Guitar
1 hour workshop, 5-15 participants - $100
Ages 6 to 12
Introduction to Guitar is a great interactive workshop designed to give participants the chance to listen, learn, and create all things guitar! Participants learn about different types of guitars and guitar music through hands-on activities including a team guitar-building challenge, name that style game, and make your own sound effects contest. Participants are also given the chance to try their hand at playing a variety of guitars to experience music-making for themselves.

Our instructors are proud to work with our community to provide musical support in many capacities. We are available to book flute clinics for Calgary's junior high and high school band programs.
